Mr Jason Vaughan, 3rd Degree Black Belt, returned to training in 1995, after a seven year break. He originally began his training aged 12, but it was to be put on hold aged 16 when he joined the Army. There Mr Vaughan expanded his knowledge within the regiment developing new skills combining two years of boxing, Thai boxing, Aikido, unarmed combat, arrest & restraint and personal security. On leaving the Armed Forces Mr Vaughan trained as a personal trainer, sports therapist and nutritional adviser working at facilities within Coventry and Herefordshire. Settling in Ledbury, he began training with AIMAA / AIMAA-UK and Cho's Tae Kwon-Do in Malvern with Mr Kevin Summers, 5th Dan. After gaining his Black Belt at the end of 1999 and becoming more involved in teaching, Mr Vaughan became a full time AIMAA instructor at Ledbury. As well as teaching others, Mr Vaughan continues to train himself hard and enters numerous competitions ranging from semi to full contact events. His fighting ability has been rewarded with Mr Vaughan fighting for a number of AIMAA teams including England vs. Ireland 2000 and recently Martial Arts Illustrated, "Clash of the Titans" 2003. Mr Vaughan has also achieved many other recognition's, including official AIMAA referee, official AIMAA instructor, MADEC coach level 2 and he is fully First Aid trained. |
